Day 2 / 09 May YANGON-NYAUNG U (BY MORNING FLIGHT) / BAGAN FULL DAY SIGHTSEEING

Breakfast at the hotel or take breakfast box if the flight is so early. Transfer to the airport to take the flight from Yangon to Nyaung U. Arrive NyaungU.Drive to Bagan, one of Asia’s most popular archaeological destinations and one out of two most pre-eminent religious old cities in South East Asia. The sightseeing starts with a visit to NyaungOo market – a typical local market; followed by visits to most distinctive pagodas such as Shwezigon Pagoda – the holiest one believed to be enshrined with Buddha tooth and hair; Gubyaukgyi Temple (Wetkyiinn village) – the 13th century ‘cave temple’ with fine frescoes of scenes from Jakatas; Ananda Temple – one of the masterpieces surviving and remaining in Bagan and considered to be in the Mon architecture style.Afternoon, we will visit a lacquer ware factory. Before the sundown, we would take a boat ride along the Ayeyarwaddy River to view the sunset and relax.

Day 3 / 10 May BAGAN SIGHTSEEING

Breakfast at the hotel. The second day sightseeing at Asia’s best kept archaeological destination includes a visit to Dhamayangyi Temple – the most massive and significant monument in Bagan with finest mortar-less brickwork; Sulamani Temple – close to the Dhamayangyi temple with more sophisticated style of later Bagan temple; another Gubyaukgyi Temple at Myinkaba village – believed to be built for Rajakumar on the death of his father, King Kyansitta, and famous nowadays for its well preserved wall paintings; Manuha Temple – built by detained Mon King Manuha; Ngagayon Temple – similar to the plan of Anada Temple and the main attraction is that the twice life size Buddha Image shelters under the hood of the naga or serpent inside the temple. We will view the sunset from the top of one of the temples. Overnight at Bagan. B / L / D

Day 4 / 11 May NYAUNG U – MANDALAY (BY MORNING FLIGHT) / MANDALAY DAY SIGHTSEEING

Breakfast at the hotel or take breakfast box if the flight is so early. Transfer to the airport to take the flight to Mandalay.Sightseeing at Mandalay, the last capital of Myanmar kingdom, includes Mahamuni Buddha Image – believed to be cast in bronze in front of Buddha himself and nowadays gilded with thick gold leaf; gold leaf hammering, marble carving, and tapestry making.
Afternoon sightseeing includes Shwenandaw monastery, still existing masterpiece of last Myanmar kingdom’s architecture in teak and wood carving; Kuthodaw Pagoda, renowned as the world’s largest book; and Mandalay Hill regarded a natural watchtower in the plain region of Mandalay, to view the sunset.

Day 5 / 12 May MANDALAY – YANGON (FLIGHT) / YANGON SIGHTSEEING

Breakfast at the hotel or take breakfast box if the flight is so early. Transfer to airport to fly back to Yangon. Upon arrival at Yangon, sightseeing in Yangon. Highlights include city center and Sule Pagoda, the landmark of downtown Yangon, followed by a short walk to the Strand hotel, a relic of the colonial-era legacy which was opened in 1901 by the famed Sakies brothers; followed by photographing at Kandawgyi (Royal) Lake and we will work night market. Overnight Yangon.
